Ajax - What is it?

"Google Suggest and Google Maps are two examples of a new approach to web applications that we at Adaptive Path have been calling Ajax. The name is shorthand for Asynchronous JavaScript + XML, and it represents a fundamental shift in what’s possible on the Web."

Recently I hear alot about Ajax; so when I searched about it I found a couple of articles and a detailed wikipedia entry about it. Both Jesse James Garrett's article and ajax entry at wikipedia is quite satisfying about the topic. They both also have lots of links to related articles; examples, applications and all that stuff... I guess Ajax will be very popular in a short period of time... (Be aware ;)
