Young Generation - Budapest

I took this photo with my Nikon Coolpix 775 in Budapest a few days ago, this statue is one of the two guarding the statue of liberty on a hill in Budapest...It symbolizes the young generation. (Did I mention that I like silhouettes? :)

He's gone! (At last :o)
Whole day long, (and some nights) I watch the guy sitting here... But for the next 6 days he won't be here... I will be all alone... So, he has left his desk to me... I guess I will be sitting here (even) updating his blog... What? Can't you see me? Click on the photo on the left to see it larger... And yesss... Here I am sitting in his chair... :D
The guy that usually sits here working all day (he could also be named as my owner - but please don't mention it) was really exhausted and at last he listened to me and decided to go on a vacation... He will be out there in cold... (He he... I sent him to somewhere cold... Really cold) He will be on a trip, tomorrow around this time he will be in Budapest - Hungary, I advised him to visit and see the place connecting the two parts of town Buda and Pest...
“River and art everywhere. If you grow tired of one, there is always the other”
If you wanna learn more about Budapest,
check this link out... The guy usually sitting here didn't have any time to search the net about Budapest before he started his vacation... Pity him... :) (
weather)
After Budapest, he will be staying in Vienna for a night, I told his to taste some great schnitzel there... (Tho it might be risky when I think of my species) (weather)
His last stop will be Prague, he will be there for two nights... I told him that the city is great at night but it is also around -5 (So he might be frozen when he comes back...) (weather)
Anyway, I will try to let you know about his (cold) holiday if he tells me anything... (He might give me a call just to learn about work, office, Istanbul etc...) So, I wish him a great and refreshing holiday... ;)

The Last Kiss
At the weekend I watched The Last Kiss, and I really liked it. Here are some quotes from reviews about the film:
"The Last Kiss is rich with universal truths about the things men and women do to each other -- and it's probably better, in the long run, to purge them rather than suffer in silence."
"Muccino is honest in the emotional damage left by his immature men and passionate in his portraits of twentysomething commitment-phobes struggling against growing up."
"The movie does a good job of laying out some of the major issues that we encounter as we journey through life."
"Simultaneously heart-breaking and very funny, The Last Kiss is really all about performances."
Also one of the best things about the film is I leraned about a real hot Italian actress: Giovanna Mezzogiorno. (Of course she is not the only reason I liked the film but she will be remembered ;) And here are some great photos of Giovanna Mezzogiorno. (And there was also one Martina Stella... ) (Don't accept to download anything from the last link please, I don't think it is secure). Anyway, forget about the ladies and watch the film...

Mini Coopers Old or New
At the weekend I watched Italian Job, as a classic cars fan (tho I am in fact a vw bettles fan) I also like Mini Coopers and as Mini Coopers steal the show in 'The Italian Job', I liked the cars and I liked the action. (There was nothing too new but the cars) Anyway; then I got into a bet with a friend that there were 4 Mini Cooppers in the movie and three of them were new, but one was old. (She says all of them were new) Anyway, the cars that they used in the theft were all new, and the original car that Stella (Charlize Theron) (And yes she is beautiful) was driving at the beginning of the film was old.
Well, if anyone has watched, please comment. Even if you dont; let me show you two photos. In this picture the car at the background is old... And the cars in this picture are new... You decide...
As I was searching the net I also found movie mistakes... There are some interesting things about the new mini cooopers thet used in the film.. Check these out... (You might also like to see a play station game ;)
Home Theater Sound System
After a long long thinking period yesterday I decided to get a home theater sound system. At first I was into Philips MX5700D but then I changed my mind as integrated systems aren't expandable and I would (sure) be insufficient soon. Then I decided to make a custom set with three different products.
The Philips FR996 Digital Audio/Video Receiver is a perfect complement to any home theater. It can output a powerful 500 Watts and decode Dolby® Digital (AC-3), DTS, and Dolby Pro-Logic sound through Automatic Sound Type Detection. Other features include Natural Surround for more realistic Surround Sound, unique digital stereo downmix from Multichannel sound, and "Hall" for normal stereo with rear speaker sound.
I also got FB900 5+1 Speakers and a new DVD Player DVD728. I decided just to get Philips as I have a Philips TV and this way I can use all the devices with only one remote commander. (That's great as it alsı commands satellite network) Anyway, the device that excites me most is the
Receiver in this set. Last night I set the system up till 2.00am and tonight I think I will be enjoying it... First reviews soon...

The Moral Of The Story
A mother and a baby camel were lazing around, and suddenly the baby camel asked ...
Baby: Mother, mother, may I ask you some questions?
Mother: Sure! Why son, is there something bothering you?
Baby: Why do camels have humps?
Mother: Well son, we are desert animals, we need the humps to store water and we are known to survive without water.
Baby: Okay, then why are our legs long and our feet rounded?
Mother: Son, obviously they are meant for walking in the desert. You know with these legs I can move around the desert better than anyone does! Said the mother proudly.
Baby: Okay, then why are our eyelashes long? Sometimes it bothers my sight. Mother: My son, those long thick eyelashes are your protective cover. They help to protect your eyes from the desert sand and wind. Said mother camel with eyes rimming with pride....
Baby: I see. So the hump is to store water when we are in the desert, the legs are for walking through the desert and these eye lashes protects my eyes from the desert......
Then what the hell are we doing here in the Zzzoooooo !!!!!!???
MORAL OF THE STORY IS:
Skills, knowledge, abilities and experiences are only useful if you are at the right place.

Wanna Buy Me A Gift?
"Remember Those Great Volkswagen Ads?" is a book by Alfredo Marcantonio, John O'Driscoll, David Abbott; about all the great Vw advertsinh through years.
In 1959, Doyle Dane Bernbach, the New York advertising agency, was appointed to handle the Volkswagen account in the USA. The advertisements they produced throughout the sixties and early seventies changed the face of advertising, not just in America, but across the world.
This book was written by Alfredo Marcantonio, copywriter and one-time Advertising Manager of VWGB Ltd, John O’Driscoll, Art Director of many British Volkswagen ads, and David Abott, an ex-Creative and Managing Director of DDB’s London office.
Mandatory reading for Beetle lovers and those in advertising alike, this fully illustrated book charts the history of the VW Beetle campaign and brings you the most memorable ads that trace the history of the car.
This book is a story of the car and its advertising. In a unique way the two were indistinguishable – the charming, honest advertising became part of the charm and honesty of the car. If you ever owned a Beetle, if you’ve ever chuckled at a Volkswagen advertisement, or if you simply appreciate wit and style, you will enjoy this book. It’s the tale of an ugly duckling that became an office pin-up.
Office boys read them aloud by the water cooler. College kids recited them at campus parties. They were the marketing conversation piece of the sixties.
To let the Beetle and its advertising pass on without a permanent record seemed a crying shame. For surely, no car was ever more loved, no advertising more admired. In a way the two became indivisible. The charming honest advertising became part of the charm and honesty of the car.
If you've ever owned a Beetle, if you've ever chuckled at a Volkswagen advertisement, or if you simply appreciate wit and style, you'll enjoy this book. It's the tale of an ugly duckling that became an office pin up.

The Rhytym Of Love
At the weekend at last I found Scorpions Acoustica on DVD. Tho I am not a Scorpions fan I really liked the DVD and acoustic versions of the songs. I keep on listening/watching the dvd. I even started looking for lyrics and also tabs. I took my guitar after a looong looong time and tried Rhytym Of Love.... Below is the lyrics & here are the tabs...
(Music :Rudolf Schenker, Lyrics:Klaus Meine)
Let's spend the night together
I know you want it too
The magic of the moment
Is what I've got for you
The heartbeat of this night
Is made to lose control
And there is something in your eyes
That's longing for some more
Let us find together
The beat we're looking for
The rhythm of love
Keeps me dancing on the road
The rhythm of love
Got the groove that hits the bone
The rhythm of love
Is the game I'm looking for
The rhythm of love
Is the heartbeat of my soul
Let's reach the top together
One night will never do
An exploding shot of pleasure
Is what I've got for you
Why don't you close your eyes
And let your feeling grow
I make you feel the taste of life
Until your love will flow
Let us find together
The beat we're longing for
The rhythm of love
Keeps me dancing on the road
The rhythm of love
Got the groove that hits the bone
The ryhthm of love
Is the game I'm looking for
The rhythm of love
Is the heartbeat of my soul
Let us find together
The beat we're looking for
Director Elia Kazan dies at 94
Elia Kazan (who was borned in Turkey) I read his autobiography "A Life" years ago.
Flashes of sudden insight or eloquence keep the reader turning the pages of Kazan's garrulous 864-page autobiography. The famous director, now 78, apparently wanted it all: comfortable domesticity (provided by three wives) and a bachelor's sexual freedom. An ambitious Anatolian of Greek ancestry craving acceptance in America, a bourgeois adventurer, a truth-teller and wearer of masksthese paradoxes in his own character are the driving force of his life and career. Kazan, an ex-Communist, makes no apologies for his agonizing decision to name names before the House Un-American Activities Committee during the McCarthy era. Focusing on Death of a Salesman, America, America and many other plays and films he directed, his expansive memoir includes cutting portraits of Lillian Hellman and Arthur Miller, as well as glimpses of Odets, Cagney, Bankhead, Monroe, Brando, Goldwyn, dozens more. Kazan is candid about his own flaws and generous in his assessment of others. (from Publishers Weekly)
The first Elia Kazan film I remember wathing was: America America and
Viva Zapata The stage and film director Elia Kazan, who has died aged 94, had outlived so many friends and enemies; yet there are actors everywhere working towards a mystery he did so much to define. He had helped found the Actors' Studio and whole scheme of psychological naturalism; he had directed the first stage productions of A Streetcar Named Desire and Death of a Salesman: he had made movies like Viva Zapata!, On the Waterfront and East of Eden; he was a father-figure to Brando, Dean, Clift, Steiger, Beatty.
